I've threatened to dump Windows for Linux for years - it comes up everytime Micro$oft causes me fresh grief. (I do have Linux boxes for dev & fun) Two days ago I dumped some water on my primary Windows laptop keyboard and I've been forced to use a Linux laptop as my daily driver while awaiting a replacement kbd delivery... (Yeah, I could have plugged in an external, but work with me here!) stay tuned to see if a reformat is in the near future... #linux #floss #BreakFree
@AsylumDEG What distro?
@nashveggie for my daily I'l probably just load up Ubuntu or Mint. For my playground I've messed around with Kali and BlackArch a bit but decided I didn't know enough to lock them down as a personal data machine.
@AsylumDEG I use Debian as a daily use and Kali for some work use. I have an Ubuntu server at home and a couple setup for clients. I have never used Mint or BlackArch.
@nashveggie well, it's ALL Debian, at some level... Lolz. I've looked at making the move to Arch, but frankly I'd rather play with Kali or BlackArch on my dev box and just have my main desktop work without lots of tweaking. Hence Ubuntu.
@AsylumDEG Yes. I guess I meant to say plain Debian? Debian with no extras packaged in?
@nashveggie yeah, I understood. I was trying to make an ironic funny about Debian being the root of pretty much all Linux. But to modern Debian distro.
@AsylumDEG Go for it! It’s been almost 2.5 years for me (from Mac) and I’m thrilled. I dual booted Windows 10 on my refurbished Dell E7470 for a bit. Never used it but updates drove me crazy. I have only used Pop_OS. It’s been a good choice for noob like me.
