I honestly really wanna install GitLab because installing stuff is fun, but the Hetzner special offer is over and getting a new box requires a 90€ setup fee which is yikes

There are some p2p plugins for git but I'm not sure how that works.
There's also @bob 's Freedombone project, which allows you to easily self-host applications on your own. Gogs is one of the supported applications.
