Is anyone still using or have any knowedge of we.riseup.net or the #crabgrass platform?
I was cleaning up may passphrase store and stumbled on an account I created there years ago; so I obviously haven't used it.
@absor70 When I played around, it was not very explorable and that created a barrier for encouraging collective volunteering/contributing. Maybe I missed how to explore though.
The groups I was able to find (on a much older version of #crabgrass at the time) have not been updated since mid 2017 or even later...
@PresGas I think many groups changed to private as privacy awareness became more ubiquitous. I remember some 5, 6 years ago when you could see many public activity going on in groups around the world, it was nice. But nowadays I believe there is still a lot happening but hidden, is hard to grasp. If you have some people who are willing to jump in, try creating a group and doing your organizing there.
@PresGas I use it a lot, almost daily. IMO people usually don't like it bc they are looking for a social network and is more like a working platform, for people to colaborate. I would say is more similar to Git than it is to Diaspora or FB.
I'm involved in many groups that are only organizing thru crabgrass. But if a person is not in a group or a collective, maybe it is a bit pointless.
