don't pop garbage over the article text i'm trying to read on your website in the name of 'engagement'
i end up engaging with the close button
The two people sitting around me, are using their Macbook as a display stand for their iPhones. WTF!?
I like the idea of a Superb Owl coming to visit us every year, and millions of people going "Oh yes, that is indeed a rathet superb owl!".

PAM authentication and CAS/SAML single-sign-on are now in master.
CAS/SAML are implemented using omniauth strategies. We'll probably add LDAP the same way too. But PAM is implemented differently. Not sure if it should remain that way, or be consolidated into omniauth-pam. The difference is that current way uses the same login form, while omniauth-pam would use a separate login form.

@cypnk Bruce Schneier wrote some stuff well over a decade ago about cameras with secret keys built-in which signed the photos they took. If the photo was subsequently manipulated in any way, the signature would not validate.
How well this could be implemented in practice is questionable, but some idea vaguely like this is probably going to have to become a requirement for legal admissibility of photo/video evidence in the future.
OK, things have gone too far

There are some privacy and personal safety implications here besides just for Nic Cage. If this gets good enough, the whole concept of video evidence could become suspect
On gender-neutral language (quoted by permission):
“At least in Brazil, we've been promoting gender-neutrality in language through the use of the @ symbol. It works
for us because many feminine words end in a, and corresponding masculine ones end in o, like pata/pato for duck. Since there's no neutral or genderless form for duck in Portuguese, we'd write pat@ instead of the more traditional form pato(a) that still makes the feminine variant second class.” — Alexandre Oliva
@soft_chomps I would have never taken the pope seriously even before (?)
