Team Rocket's been using Plantar Fasciitis to try to keep me down, but I'm far too stubborn to do something like listen to my body. Especially when shiny Articuno is on the line.
I should probably at least buy some news shoes though.
I was going to walk to work, but with the way the rain is coming down, I think I'll swim.
Went to my first EX raid today in PoGo, caught a Mewtwo. Then 2 Kyogre raids; one got away, caught the first.
Meanwhile, walked 7+ miles on my day off. Remember when video games were for lazy couch potatoes?
So I was in Maine for the weekend, and saw some signs supporting a ballot initiative to get this going for general elections, but didn't realize it was being actively used in primaries this year already. This is perhaps the single biggest improvement I can think of for our democratic system.
Go Maine!
Went for my first kayaking trip of the season today; 5 km up the Charles River. I think I found a fantastic way to hatch eggs and get candy in Pokemon Go, just in time for Adventure Week! As a bonus, there's a nest along one stretch, and a gym only accessible from the river, as it's otherwise on a private residence, so it's all but guaranteed to to last overnight if hit late during the rental hours during the day.
Glad to be back on the water :-).
Had a molar pulled today. Really wish I didn't metabolize local anaesthesia so rapidly. Also really wish they'd at least given me a vicodin or something for the procedure; that tooth was stubborn.
That all said, totally pain free now 12 hours later, so I guess it is what it is. Hope I don't dream of crunching teeth and having my head yanked around by a set of pliers.
Made a family pack of boneless skinless chicken thighs today, covered in paprika, garlic, chili powder, coffee grinds, and brown sugar. Reserved the drippings to cook with some farro, which otherwise had some chicken boullion and salt in the water to cook with (because cooking grains with straight water is for sucka's). Side of roasted zucchini and summer squash, with Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute, fresh garlic, and salt.
This is some dank eatin's.
Next experiment: boil grains in coffee.
Anyone else ever notice that dentist offices always have fluoride free water in the waiting room via a water bubbler? Seems to speak volumes if you ask me.
Got grains developing on my wheat crop. Only a few months until harvest!
Sort of wondering why we haven't seen the rise of Satanist lgbtq folks rocking the Fags Hate God signs and shirts yet. At least it's a justified hatred, unlike its opposite.
The winter wheat I planted last fall has come out of dormancy quite nicely thanks to all the rain. Got about eight inches on it now, with an expected harvest around the end of July.
This stuff took nearly no weeding thanks to going in at the end of the growing season, and it'll be harvested before the peak of the hotter and drier summer season. Anyone who told you growing wheat had to be hard was lying.
First look at Strange Angel, the CBS series based on the life of occultist, rocket pioneer, Jack Parsons https://boingboing.net/2018/05/02/first-look-at-strange-angel-t.html #Occultliterature #JackParsons #rocketry #tvshow #Post
Making this right now, and probably never again with how long it takes. Bonappetit.com should be cookingformasochists.com
Smells tasty AF anyway.

Got a phone interview in a few hours for a restaurant tech company. On the one hand, they've got some heinous reviews on Glassdoor (for whatever that's worth) and their POS devices are still stationary (while the world seems to be moving to tablet POS), but they have some really nice kitchen, inventory, and loss prevention solutions.
Oh, and perhaps the big perk, I'd almost certainly not be working 50-60 hours a week anymore. Might need a car though 😟
So I was glad to see talk from announcers as to the sheer awfulness of the referees at the Bruins/Lightning game last night. They're either blind or corrupt; neither one makes for good hockey.
Maybe it's time we somehow integrate instant replay challenges a la NFL. Expecting 2-3 guys on the ice who have to dodge a particularly rowdy 10 guys to notice everything AND make the right calls in real time is a bit excessively hopeful.
This article seems like it'd trigger a lot of false positives from an adult content filter with a headline like this...
Heathens serving in the American military can now sport beards as part of their faith. https://boingboing.net/2018/04/26/heathens-serving-in-the-americ.html #groomingstandard #moose-stashhairs #heathenry #military #religion #U.S.Army #Sikhism #beard #Post
I wonder how much the folks at Amazon thought before naming their book reader after the start of a fire. And I can't help but notice that Jeff Bezos has no hair.
Book burning skinhead billionaire with private space program aspirations. What could go wrong? Perhaps I should ask Alexa.
