Pinned toot

I remember when “social media” was “dial-up BBS.” I ran a WWIV board based in Dallas when I was 12 or 13 years old, 1991 or so.

I stopped using computers at around 15 because I hated GUI and refused to use a mouse, I thought it was a fad. Started smoking weed, got an arts degree in poetry, moved to New York with my shoegaze band. Around the same time I started dabbling in CSS, HTML, PHP and the java crap.

Now my band’s broken up and I hate Facebook and Twitter.

So here I am.

First full weekend as a 40 year-old: spent stone sober nursing my flu-stricken girlfriend back to health.

More relaxing than it sounds— lots of feeding her fluids, dextromethorphan, ibuprofen and doxylamine— then petting her cat while she snores. Spent some time making ambient sounds on a QY70 my best friend gifted me a few years ago. Lots of watching Star Trek (Voyager) and MST3K.

Today she feels well enough we’re going to see The Dark Crystal in the theater.

Gettin’ old ain’t so bad.

I’m drunk and I’m going to bed.

I tap on it repeatedly to no avail. “Public” is less grey, and when I tap on it it offers me privacy settings.

I can’t share photos???

I’m using Amaroq on my iPhone. I want to share photos but the photo icon to the left of “Public” is greyed out and I can’t select it.

Help!?

It’s my fortieth birthday and I’m drunk and I want to show you things.

Tonight’s a good night to cuddle with my girlfriend, listen to the Brooklyn rain through the living room window, have sushi delivered and binge-watch Star Trek Voyager.
