... okay I have watched approximately 900 of this dude's videos (see previous) and am basically seeing a version of myself if I'd had support and stability and resources. Now I'll never be like that because I'm not that young and my approach and priorities are much different.

I read some things recently stating a theory and evidence that our individual preferences in physical attraction are likely formed by a caretaker imprinting process some time between 1.5 and 4 years of age. Based on where I lived when I was little and my favorite traits and features today I will bet you dollars to donuts that my early childhood daycare was run by women of Portuguese descent 😙👌

Does anybody know the best way to propagate small groundcover #succulents like sedum & hens-and-chicks? Some of these little plants seem a poor fit for "break a leaf off and wait for it to root" methods.

These are Pacific NW succulents that are fairly adapted to high moisture much of the year. I made an indoor grow box and want to steal cuttings from around the neighborhood to propagate succulents for ground cover for where I live. Tips?

I was out digging in the yard one Sunday a couple years ago and some srs.biz guy in full softball uniform was unloading bats from his Audi while closing a deal on his bluetooth. I knew then that this neighborhood was lost to the cancer for at least a generation.

I still love my city but I will be glad & relieved to be pushed further out from the core at this point, assuming I stay. I'm uninterested in seeing any more "in OUR America, LOVE WINS" signs planted next to luxury cars.

There's always the srs.biz guy who's In It To Win It™, ALWAYS, and you can spot him at fifty yards by either attire or behavior or both. With the Really White Bike People it's the dude with the most spandex and the shiny red bike who's really giving the weird little obstacle hills the what-for even when the others have stopped to talk; with the softball game it's the one (1) guy in full uniform including the socks and helmet; etc.

Going to the park in the gentrified neighborhood where I live, I'm inevitably reminded of the bit in Brave New World where the entire economy was powered by consumption of a dizzying array of highly specialized sports gear.

This used to be a black neighborhood, which makes it worse. A bunch of white people in full spandex riding $3K bikes in circles on the grass doing some weird obstacle course is not an acceptable substitute for culture.

So I've been totally sucked into storm chasing vidyas lately*, and somebody commented on a particularly good one, "God bless crazy white people, I don't know anybody else who'd drive right up to a damn tornado and get us this footage" and of course there was an argument in the replies but I just sat there thinking "hmm, my race does have its redeeming characteristics" and then clicked on a video of crazy white people trying to fly a drone into a tornado
