Left-wing coalition wins French elections so King Macron forms right-wing government.
Such democracy.
(In case you needed yet another reminder that fucking neoliberals will always choose fascism over social justice when they feel their wallets are threatened.)

Stuff like this (and plenty in my own #usa #USpol ) makes cynical me wonder if “center-left” is just a #marketing ploy used by a subset of conservatives
@steve_zeke @aral As a German i have the whole history of the SPD to back that cynicism up. 150 Years of a slow but steady descend to the right.
Its the same with the Greens and both are the reason why i am anti-electorialist.

If you want to see some insanity, have you watched anything with Jill Stein recently? Her mask is dropping quite heavily at this point.
@steve_zeke @aral not sure who "center left" is supposed to refer to in this context, but Macron never was supposed to be center left. Center at best, but he since then showed on multiple occasions that he's just right wing.
@steve_zeke @aral also the article calls Mélenchon "far left", whixh isn't accurate. Mélenchon is radical left. To give the usian reader a relatable scale, Mélenchon is probably on a similar level of leftism as Bernie Sanders.

Thanks. I noticed that framing too. I just figured BBC. I appreciate the French perspective.
It has become exactly that. Look at how closely the Biden Administration has been working with the Koch Family and Peter Thiel. It's fucking disgusting.
