In which DNA Lounge stands to lose some money because they told shithead bands they weren't welcome. If you've been meaning to swing by there to catch a show, please do. We should reward this kind of action.
@tek thats cool both that the venue exists and the owners are directly working to make it a safer place to be in.
There is a load of angst in England currently that we are losing all our music venues, but although gentrification/capitalism is a big factor, another is some people simply can't behave themselves appropriately (and others understandably don't want to attend events where they are at risk of being attacked)
@tek I don't know why I just decided to try posting that story to HN. They probably would agree, in less overt language, that jwz is an SJW cuck for refusing to let that band play in his venue.
@tek It's a very homogenous demographic in some ways, I think. It's hard to explain to them, for example, the problem with Damore's memo.

@tek this is completely the other side of the world to me and they play genres I'm not as much into (was more an EDM fan an former DJ) but I applaud the venue managements actions - here in England I saw too many occasions when bad behaviour/attitude was not firmly discouraged and that led to Bad Things happening at events, which attracted negative attention from authorities and venues losing their licenses and closing down and a vicious circle of the whole music scene becoming less tolerated..
