@loran_hayden@mastodon.social @randahl They probably don’t wash them first either
@bougiewonderland @loran_hayden @randahl My work insurance covers chiropractors, naturopaths and a few other kinds of totally disproven woo.
Why not laying of hands at that rate?
@PatrickoftheG @bougiewonderland @loran_hayden @randahl My cousin is a chiropractor and he went to medical school in Trois-Rivières where he got his degree. There's a medical order of practitioners as well that's recognized by the government. My cousin is very good and after getting treatment from him a few times I can attest that he knows that he's doing and he's helped me on several occasions with some muscular skeletal problems. Don't be too quick to judge that practice.
@stephanetremblay @PatrickoftheG @loran_hayden@mastodon.social @randahl I didn’t say it’s all woo, I said there’s a lot of woo! I dropped my last chiropractor (who did solve a back problem I had) because he started pushing vaccine conspiracy theories and saying neck manipulations could solve various issues that had nothing to do with the back. I noped right out of there!
@bougiewonderland @stephanetremblay @loran_hayden @randahl Taught by a ghost.
Chiropractors do not go to medical school. If your back doctor went to a medical school they would be a doctor, like an orthopedic specialist.
Your body did all the real healing after a nice massage with someone who was likely a really friendly person, it wasn't the made up ghost knowledge that did it for you. I love the testimonials, you do you, but I can go find testimonials about radium suppositories too.
@bougiewonderland @stephanetremblay @loran_hayden @randahl Also, just for the record, being a professional order does not make someone an actual doctor - Ontario has a professional order of Naturopaths too, equally snakeoil woo from a class of predators. And every pharmacy will sell you homeopathy, and pharmacists have *real* degrees.
@PatrickoftheG @stephanetremblay @loran_hayden@mastodon.social @randahl True to that: CPAs have an order and they’re definitely not doctors
